Russian submarine to launch satellite in July
A Russian Delta-IV-class submarine is scheduled to launch a scientific micro-satellite in July this year, reported RIA Novosti. The operation will be performed in accordance with a governmental decree on commercial satellites launches.

In July this year, the Northern Fleet’s Delta-IV-class nuclear-powered submarine Novomoskovsk will launch a commercial satellite Tubsan-N from a surfaced position in the Barents Sea. The satellite, developed by Berlin Technical University, will be placed on an SS-N-23 type ballistic missile.
The commercial launch of satellites from nuclear-powered submarines began in 1994. In early June 1995, a commercial satellite was launched from a submerged Delta-III-class submarine. The satellite was carried by an SS-N-18 ballistic missile.
