The construction is scheduled to start at the Siberian Chemical Combine in Seversk, Tomsk region, in the beginning of 2005. The estimated cost of the program is $2 billion, including reactors’ decommissioning, MOX-fuel storage facility upgrade etc. The estimated cost of the MOX-production facility is $400 million in American version, Vladimir Shidlovsky, Chemical Combines general director, said to nuclear.ru. French produced MELOX equipment will be adopted and used for the new facility. The construction site is situated 7.5 km from Seversk on 35 square hectares.
