Publish date: June 25, 2008

About four tons of oil has spilled from an underground pipeline in the Komi Republic in Russia’s far northeast, The Barent’s Observer reported.

The regional centre on emergency situations told RIA Novosti that the spill came from a rupture in a 500milimeter length of pipeline in the Sosnogorsk region belonging to Lukoil-Komi.

The spill has been stopped and oil transport resumed, regional authorities report, said The Barents Observer.
