25 percent of unexplored reserves of oil and gas located in Arctic

This data of American Geological Service was announced by Robert Bley from Shell Exploration & Production in his speech about Arctic’s importance for supplement of growing world demand in energy resources.

There are also many opened reserves in Arctic. Nowadays Shell works on many projects located in Arctic. Such projects, as “Sakhalin-2”, “Salym” and “Kashagan” are not totally “arctic”, but characterized by extremely severe conditions and faraway location, Oilcapital reported.

Projects, connected with Canadian and Alaskian reserves investigation are “really arctic”. According to the Shell’s representative, many technological solutions, applicable for offshore works in the Northern Sea can be modified and used for marine projects in Arctic.
