The USA backs the northern route of the Russian oil transportation

Publish date: October 27, 2005

The USA is encouraging Russia to build an oil terminal directed to the Barents Sea.

According to RusEnergy, Russian Minister of Industry and Energy Victor Khristenko and US Secretary of Energy Samuel Bodman announced their support for such a plan after a recent round of negotiations between the two officials.

“We stand for the northern route to help oil export from Russia to the USA and other countries. This will also make raw oil transportation cheaper,” Bodman was quoted as saying by RusEnergy.
