Two days before on November 11th, this turbine generator was shut down by the safety automatic system. The reasons for shutdown are unknown. It was the second malfunction at the Novovoronezh NPP this month.
On November 3, unit no.3 was shut down by the automatic safety system after malfunction in the control circuits.
Presently, units 3 and 5 are operating at full capacity; unit 4 is under planned repairs. The radiation background at the plant and in the nearby area is normal.
