On October 19, RIA-Novosti reported that radiation alarm was triggered when a truck was passing the ports checkpoint. The truck was loaded with scrap metal from the military unit in closed town Viluchinsk. The detected radiation levels were not dangerous. The radioactive cargo was sent back to the military unit for the thorough check of the container content. The Russian most eastern nuclear submarine base is situated near Viluchinsk.
