8 retired nuclear submarines to tugged to Nerpa shipyard
This year shipyard Nerpa will receive eight nuclear submarines taken out of service and based in Gremikha base, Northern Saturday Newspaper from Polyarny reported.
However, they will not be dismantled this year. Chief engineer of shipyard Nerpa, Rostislav Rimdenok, said these nuclear submarines were not scheduled for decommissioning this year, so the main task for the Nerpa specialists will be to unload spent nuclear fuel.
