ST. PETERSBURG- Bellona Friday celebrated in style the opening of its new office in St. Petersburg, with a ceremonial inauguration of its new address and a guest list that included the consuls of Norway, Germany, the United States and Great Britain, as well as representatives of other non-governmental organisations, the press, and Bellona’ s Oslo and Murmansk staff.

The new office is owned outright by Bellona St. Petersburg.

“It is pleasing to me to see everyone in our new offices,” said Alexander Nikitin, the director of Bellona St. Petersburg’s office.

“For Bellona, having our own office means not just a location, but a step toward stability,” he told the gathering. “You all know how difficult the situation for non-governmental organisations is now. Therefore, I also want our office to be a resource centre for NGOs that need support.”
