On January 11, 3 p.m. local time, turbo generator no.5 of the reactor unit no.3 of the Leningrad NPP was shut down by the personnel due to the critical temperature rise of the turbo generators gas coolant. The total load of the plant did not change and was redistributed to the other units. The radiation level remained normal, the press centre of the atomic energy stated.
It is planned to start the turbo generator again at midnight on January 13, Interfax reported. The turbo generator is under repairs now and the capacity of the reactor unit no. 3 is 498.96 MW at the moment.
