Russia has already offered to enrich Uzbek uranium in Angarsk, Siberia. In 2006, Russia and Uzbekistan announced the plans to take part in the joint venture to extract uranium in Aktau, Uzbekistan, but the joint venture has never been established. The uranium resources are expected to be about 4.4 thousand tons in Aktau. According to the Uzbek State Geology Department, the total uranium resources in Uzbekistan are 185.8 thousand tons.
