Cathrine has a civil engineering degree in physics and mathematics, and a PhD in petroleum-related rock mechanics from NTNU. She has extensive experience with petroleum-related research and development within the topics of rock mechanics, geophysics and reservoir technology. Cathrine comes to Bellona from SINTEF, where she worked on issues related to the geological storage of CO2 and what is required in relation to the development and operation of a CO2 storage facility. In addition, she has been responsible for the establishment and operation of the Svelvik CO2 Field Lab, a field laboratory for the development of methods and technology for monitoring CO2 storages. In the last year, she worked on mapping CO2 sources, storages and transport solutions in the areas around the Mediterranean and the Baltic Sea. Cathrine is part of Bellona's CCS team where she will work with solutions in connection with carbon capture and storage.
