With a total value of approximately $35.8 million, of which $8.2 million will be raised through non-Federal cost sharing, the projects will run over four years and will be managed by the Office of Fossil Energy’s National Energy Technology Laboratory. According to DOE estimates, the projects are expected to create nearly 100 jobs.
The projects will mainly focus on capability enhancement in the following areas: CO2 movement monitoring, CO2 location verification, CO2 quantity accounting, mathematical CO2 placement, storage. movement and release simulations and risk assessment.
