IEA has published its CCS review

The International Energy Agency (IEA) has published its bi-annual legal and regulatory review on carbon dioxide capture and storage, also called the “CCS Review”. It collates contributions by national and regional governments, as well as leading organisations engaged in CCS regulatory activities.

The theme for this second edition of the CCS Review is long‐term liability for stored CO2. The review analyses regional and country specific development such as the EU CCS Directive

There are 38 entries in the registry, 23 from national governments, 6 from regional governments and 9 from international organisations.

The role of CCS in Germany’s climate toolbox: Bellona Deutschland’s statement in the Association Hearing

After years of inaction, Germany is working on its Carbon Management Strategy to resolve how CCS can play a role in climate action in industry. At the end of February, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action published first key points and a proposal to amend the law Kohlenstoffdioxid Speicherungsgesetz (KSpG). Bellona Deutschland, who was actively involved in the previous stakeholder dialogue submitted a statement in the association hearing.
