The brand new nuclear-powered cruiser Peter the Great finally commissioned in early March this year is currently under repairs at Sevmorput shipyard in Murmansk, reported local newspapers.

The nuclear-powered cruiser Peter the Great is under dock repairs at Sevmorput shipyard in Murmansk. The cruiser went directly into the dock after short-term military exercise in the Barents Sea in March this year. Nevertheless, the rumours spread in Murmansk suggesting that the vessel would be put on reserve were denied officially by the Northern Fleet’s press-centre.

The Sevmorput shipyard has so far received some 322 000 USD from the state to perform the repairs. In the beginning of June, the yard was planning to stop the works on the cruiser due to delays in payment.
