Kola Nuclear Power Plant will have its own web pages on the Internet. In addition to background information on the nuclear plant intself, one will be able to receive on-line information about the levels of radiation on the territory around the plant.

The project includes installation of measuring equipment in the vicinity of the plant, to record the radiation levels. The updated data will be placed on the Web, reports Murmansk newspaper Polyarnaya Pravda.

This is one of a number of measures undertaken by the administration of the plant aimed at calming down local and international concern about the power plant’s ageing reactor installations.
